1979年大阪で生まれる　
2002年大阪大学人間科学部（教育学専攻）卒業
2010年京都造形芸術大学卒業、卒制（木口木版とブックデザイン）が学長賞受賞
2005年頃から自然の木の葉（落ち葉）を画材とした絵、近年は木口木版画の制作に取り組み、発表を続けている。書店員、出版編集等の仕事を経て、装丁挿絵なども手がける。個展やグループ展での発表のほか、イラストレーション、作品の受注制作などを中心に活動。

「一顆(いっか)の山」
山や渓流で拾った石を木口木版に彫っている。単にその足跡のような石もあれば、お話の萌芽を秘めた石に出会うこともある。かねてより、山の不動性に魅せられてきた。石はその分身であり果実であり、常に、山の芯を指し示すコンパスのようにも見える。ある日街に出て、雑然とした築山の上に、硬く締まった一顆をそっと置き、店をあとにしてみたい。

この度初めて戸次祥子（べっきしょうこ）さんの展覧会を開催します。
掌の大きさほどの山の石をモチーフに、木口木版で、ひたすら一つまた一つと淡々と彫りあげた静かな佇まいの石たちは、その石の母である山そのもの、宇宙へと繋がる無限の広がりを感じさせます。
気づかれずにそっとあるもの、声なきもの、長い時間をかけて育まれたものへの愛を感じさせるその作品は、作者の世界への眼差しでもあります。
